Knock Knock
The sound was quite happy, but as the trailer went on it got more sinister and fast pace. This is to show that the two girls were going insane. The music and mental abilities of the girls were in sync, for they both got a lot more sinister.
The lighting started off as high key. This was to show that the man is happy with his family, but as soon as the family left, the key changed. The lighting became low key, this was to show the distress of the man and how he was away from the happy atmosphere of his family.
From the mise en scene, we keep seeing pictures of the family all around the house. These pictures keep reminding the audience of the happy family there should be in the house. The last picture we see of the 'happy family' has been smashed. this can infer that the perfect family has now got physical scare, for if the family find out about what the husband has done, there will be trouble.
There was a variety of shots used in the trailer. The over the shoulder shot used when we see the girls for the first time is effective. This is because, we can see what sort of body language all the characters were feeling. it also made the audience feel some pity for the girls before we know what their actually like. The high angle long shot was used at the end of the sequence was to show what was happening to the man. The use of the high angle meant that the audience could see what exactly was going on, otherwise they would have to speculate what was happening to the protagonist.
The pace of the editing was slow to begin with. This was to show that there was no danger. But as soon as the girls turned up, the editing got faster. This was to show that they were going insane, and as the girls got more insane, the editing got even faster.
